Adjusting Your Glasses

Uneven Glasses Frame

Issue: One lens sits higher or closer than the other on your face.

💡Solution: If your glasses look uneven, it’s usually because one side sits higher. Place them upside down on a flat surface to check, then adjust the temples until they are balanced.

Use small pliers or your hands to gently bend the temple arms for a more even fit.

  • Plastic Frame Glasses

Check which side is causing the imbalance, and run your frames under warm water for at least 30 seconds. Gently bend it downward for proper alignment.

✨Always work slowly and gently. Adjust in small increments and check frequently to ensure even adjustment and avoid over-bending.

If Your Glasses Are Sitting Too Low on Your Nose

Issue: If the glasses sit too high or feel pinching on the nose.

1.Gently grasp each nose pad between your thumb and index finger.
2.Using your thumb, gently push the nose pad outward until it rests snugly against your nose.
Tips: Avoid applying excessive force to delicate nose pads to prevent damage.

1.Soak the temple tips in warm water for 30-60 seconds.
2.Hold the temples with both hands. Place your thumbs just below the temples, positioned at the curve. Gently push upward to bend them.
Tips: Maintain the natural curve behind the ears; avoid over-adjusting.

2.Carefully swing each pad inward until it aligns flush with your nose and fits securely. Minor adjustments are key to ensuring a precise fit.
3.Note avoid applying excessive force to the delicate nose pads to prevent breakage.

    1. Soak the temple tips in warm water for 30-60 seconds.
    2. Hold the temples with both hands. Place your thumbs beneath the temples, where the curve begins, and your index fingers above the bend.
    3. Gently push down with your index fingers while simultaneously pushing up with your thumbs. This will correct the bend behind the ears. Ensure the temple maintains its natural curve shape to avoid over-correction.

💡Tips:

Rimless and semi-rimless frames usually require specialized tools for precise adjustments. Some materials—such as titanium, memory titanium, ultem, and aluminum alloy—are more resistant to bending. Others, like stainless steel or acetate/plastic temples with a metal core, are generally easier to adjust.

Safety Note: The safest option is always to have your glasses adjusted by an optician or eye care professional. If you do make small tweaks at home, go slowly and carefully to reduce the risk of damaging your frames.
